Great fun at Milton Keynes Arts Festival
Sharp Practice took part in the Milton Keynes Festival of the Arts. We competed against five other Quartets and came out on top once again. Our chorus, MK Acapella also won the Chorus category and were presented with the harmony cup this year. Well done boys!
the quartet was awarded with medals for their winning performance in the Barbershop Quartet category.
Above all we had a great time and sang with all the other singers for a few numbers at the end.

The Mayor’s Christmas Celebration
Sharp Practice had a great time singing in the new theatre in Kettering for the Mayor and the audience seemed to enjoy themselves as well!
It was all in aid of the nominated charities of the 70th Mayor of Kettering.
After the show we sang for the quests as they enjoyed a drink where we also had the opportunity to speak to the Mayor herself.

Qualifying Success for Sharp Practice
We made it to 8th this year in the Prelims! This puts our quartet in a good place to make it through to the finals day in 2009.
We now have a lot of hard work ahead of us to maintain our placing and hopefully we can also improve.
We enjoyed listening to some very good singing during the competition and are certainly looking forward to competing again.

Great Linford Waterside Festival
Organised and run entirely by volunteers, this not-for-profit festival is put together every year with the
help and assistance of various local bodies and organisations.
Sharp Practice sang a song on the main stage which went down very well. We also performed a half hour show in St Andrews Church on the Sunday afternoon of the festival.

Great news as Sharp Practice bursts into UK Top Ten quartets!!
Good news for Sharp Practice as we achieved our aim to break into the top ten National Quartets. This took place at the
BABS Convention 2008 held on the Spring Bank Holiday weekend.
We reached ninth place, which is a five place improvement on our quarter final position.
The best eight quartets got to perform on finals day so we will be looking for a top eight placement next year!
Wedding Entertainment
Sharp Practice provides the singing entertainment between the wedding and reception.

Bletchley Lions Charity Event
Sharp Practice provided the entertainment for this charity event and raised 100 pounds for the Harmony Foundation charity.

Barbershop Association Prelim Competition
Sharp Practice qualifies for British Association of Barbershop Singers semi-finals.
Sharp Practice took part in the national quarter-finals in October 2007. This was their first attempt at qualifying which proved successful for them.
Voices for Hospice Concert
Sharp Practice performs as part of the Voices for Hospice Concert at Stewartby Village Hall in Bedfordshire.

Sharp Practice is formed
The quartet has four experienced barbershop singers, all members of the MK Acapella chorus based in Milton Keynes, with (from left to right) Nigel Hicks as baritone, Keith Hirst as bass, Steve Emery as lead and James Northern as tenor.
